Many social media posts claim that blue light from phones permanently damages the eyes or causes blindness. These claims are often used to promote blue-light blocking glasses or screen protectors.
But what does the science actually say?
BIO MYTH BUSTED
Myth: Phone blue light permanently damages your eyes.
Truth: Scientific studies show phone screens do NOT emit enough blue light to damage the retina.
Screens can cause eye strain and affect sleep, but they will NOT make you go blind.
